Italian second level degree (laurea specialistica, under D.M. 509/99 or laurea magistrale, under D.M. 207/04) or Italian degree obtained prior to D.M. 13 509/99 or equivalent qualification obtained abroad.

Description

Description
The research activity of the Doctorate concern production, processing, as well as quality and safety of food and other crops. Each topic is developed in a particular curriculum. A common path makes the knowledge diffusion within the courses easier.The funding availability and the consolidate collaborations with other research groups in Italy as abroad are the best guarantee of the high profile of the members of the doctorate.
Plant and animal production, including growing techniques, cattle breeding, pest control are the main topic of the curriculum of “Science, Technology, and Biotechnology in Agriculture”. Consumer and environment respect along with high quality production and food industry needs are the main concerns of these topics. The new applications of molecular genetics in agriculture are also extensively studied.Process and product innovation are the main topics of the curriculum “Food Science, Technology, and Biotechnology”. Food technology, microbiology, chemistry, biochemistry, and molecular biology are the main fields involved in these topics. Raw material quality and its attitude to processing is also matter of concern, as well as innovative food packaging technologies.

Employment opportunities
The researchers prepared have a strong preparation in the agro-food field, as well as in food safety. University or other research concerns, as well industry and production are some of their natural outlets. Our PhD has different expertise able to manage problems of his own field as well as to organize research on specific topics.
